The COVID-19 outbreak has led to huge changes to the way we travel. If you plan to jet off to Southern Norway, the following tips will help you navigate the "new normal:"

• Before locking in your flight, find out if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your destination and origin. Get the latest updates by reviewing government and airport websites.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Anyone refusing to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the building.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee. Rather, you should position the pass on the reader and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• You can take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. This will need to be taken out for X-ray scanning.
• Empty everything from your pockets, such as your wallet, keys and phone, and place them in your carry-on instead of the bins. This will minimize handling during screening.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray screening. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
